Wishbone Arms, otherwise known as Control Arms will rarely ever fail as a complete unit. Wishbone Arms are a solid metal arm, usually made from Aluminium or Steel, with ball joints and/or bushes at either end to secure to your Jaguar's body or hub. If a wishbone arm itself has failed, it would usually be due to receiving a severe impact for example hitting a pot hole or kerb at high speed. A bent or damaged wishbone will negatively affect the drive of your Jaguar because the wheel on that side will be out of alignment, and impossible to track correctly. If you have been told you need new wishbone bushes or ball joints. While it can be less expensive to just buy the bushes or ball joint, often due to the extra labour required in removing and installing the new parts it can be more economical to buy a new wishbone arm. Always replace these parts on both sides of your Jaguar, not just the one.
