If your Jaguar makes a whining or groaning noise as you move the steering wheel, or your steering wheel suddenly feels very hard to turn, or even 'notchy', your Jaguar may well have a failed power steering pump, or at least one that is beginning to fail. When you replace these pumps in your Jaguar, it is very important that you must ensure that the old fluid in the system is drained, and flushed, to remove any contaminants that may have caused the failure of the old pump. This action will go towards preventing premature failure of your Jaguar's new pump too. Refill with fresh power steering fluid as specified in the owner's handbook for your Jaguar.
