The pistons in your Jaguar's engine are acted on by the combustion process to create linear motion, which the crankshaft turns into rotational motion that eventually provides the effort to move the car. Pistons have Piston Rings, which seal the combustion chamber to keep the pressurised gases out of the crankcase and to keep engine oil out of the combustion chamber. Worn piston rings will have a negative impact on combustion efficiency, and will also make the engine noisy. A pressure test will show if any of the cylinders are losing compression, and a competent person can identify the problem, which will often lead to a strip-down of the engine. Our pistons include the Piston Rings and are ready to fit.
