When starting a cold engine, the glow plugs heat the combustion chamber to help ignite the mixture. If your Jaguar is slow to start on a cold morning, one or more of your glow plugs may have failed. A competent person can easily remove the glow plugs to check they work, and if any have failed, it would be a good idea to replace them all with a fresh set.
