The Fuel Leak Off Pipes on your Jaguar are installed to return excess diesel that isn't injected into the cylinders back into the fuel tank. The fuel pump provides a constant high pressure, but when supply to the injectors is higher than the demand, the excess diesel isn't wasted, it is cycled back to be filtered and pumped again. It you have a diesel leak on top of your engine, or you can smell diesel while the engine is running, have a compentent person investigate the issue and make repairs to your Jaguar as necessary.
