The Coolant Reservoir Cap is on the Coolant Reservoir in your Jaguar's engine cooling system. Apart from allowing access to the reservoir to adjust the coolant levels, it seals the system from debris, and has a pressure valve built in to maintain the pressure inside the system to the optimum. If the coolant reservoir cap on fails your Jaguar will lose pressure in the cooling system and will take longer to warm up and run less efficiently, and you will lose coolant too. If you think your coolant revervoir cap has failed, have your coolant system inspected by a competent person who will have means of pressurising the system, and can replace any parts as required.
