The Parking Brake Lever in your Jaguar operates the Brake Shoes, which work inside your Jaguar's Brake Discs to provide the grip to prevent your Jaguar from moving when parked. Due to the nature of how the Parking Brake Shoes should be used, your Jaguar may never need to have these Parking Brake Shoes replaced, unless they get contaminated by leaking fluids, corrosion, or get damaged by heat if the Jaguar is driven some distance with the Parking Brake still on.  It is best practice to not run the friction material down until you reach the metal backing plate, but replace your brake shoes when you have around 2mm left. The last roughly 2mm of friction material is impregnated with the adhesive resin that bonds the friction material to the backing plate, thus you will have a reduced braking effort below 2mm. Have a competent person check over the braking system on your Jaguar regularly, and replace any worn or wearing parts. Brake shoes must always be replaced as a set of 4, and it's advisable to replace the brake discs and pads if they are approaching their wear limit, as the old shoes will have worn to the old discs. New brake discs, shoes, and pads will wear together and will feel much better too.
