The footbrake in your Jaguar is servo-assisted, which means that every time you press the brake pedal, the vacuum inside the Brake Servo or Brake Booster works to assist the brake pedal. This means that the pedal is much easier to press, meaning that the driver can create more force to the brakes when necessary, for example in emergency situations. If your brake pedal suddenly feels very hard to press, or you can hear a hissing noise inside the cabin (from behind the dashboard) while the engine is running, that comes and goes with pumping the brake pedal, have your Jaguar's Brake Servo checked by a competent person at the very soonest opportunity. Upon discovering any fault at all with your Jaguar's brakes, it is strongly recommended that you drive no further, and have your Jaguar recovered to a competent person who can check over the braking system properly for the safety of both yourself and other road users.
